In the beginning...

In June of 87’ Mike and Dale began jamming together on a periodic basis in Kuna.  This involved multiple individuals but never a so called band.  The initial line-up of future Buffet individuals were assembled in a band called The Otherside.  This was a Micron band and included Dale (guitar), Mike (guitar), George Gorton (drums), Bob Lardinais (bass) and Todd Clark (vocals).  This line-up played around town for a couple of years until the singer left town.

Upon the break-up of The Otherside, a new singer (Gary) and drummer (Steve Galvan) were added and the band Raw Bone was formed. This line-up continued to play area bars and parties.  Again this singer parted and a new singer (Lance) was added.  This was the beginning of the band Local Justice.  More parties and bars followed until the departure of yet another singer.  At this point the band went their separate ways.

A couple of years later, Dave (Kelly) and Dale constructed a practice room in Dave’s shop and contacted Mike to join for a jam session.  It had been over 10 years since Dave had played drums.  This was also the first time Mike and Dale had played since the prior break-up.  We practiced as a power trio for almost 3 months until our old bass (Bob) player introduced us to another bass player Pat (Harper).  The four of us practiced for some time while we tried to find a singer.  Finally we received a call in response to a “wanted ad”  that we had placed.  This was our first non-Micron member for years. It was at this point the name Asphalt Buffet was born!   Although a good singer, Chris ended up missing.  We kept looking for him on America’s Most Wanted but he never turned up.

Again we were without a singer.  The next singer to join the band was Curtis (Griep).  We gigged a couple of times with this line-up until… you guessed it….. the singer quit again.  By this time it was getting pretty frustrating to practice up the set list and then have to start over again with each new singer.  A couple of individuals auditioned for the job without success.  However we still have a powered mixer from one of them.

Pat knew of another singer that worked in his area and brought him (Jason Clark) out for an audition.  Jason's singing style fit right in with our music.  This line-up was together for about two years and then during the summer of 04’ the band took a break to work on some solo projects.

We reunited again in the fall of 05’ but without a bass player.  The remaining four of us started jamming again looking for a replacement.  We decided it was time to get some young blood in the band and we contacted the son (Anthony Parry) of one of our co-workers.  This completed the current line-up of the Buffet.
